- TASTING NOTE: An elegant Rosé of vibrant, light-salmon hues. Distinct gunsmoke aromas open to several floral layers of pink and orange roses and wild strawberries. These evolve into pear, dried orange rind, bread crust, Sandalwood and Jamon, hinting at nuances of aged French oak. A soft creaming bead, fine, vivacious mousse and light, textural tannins define the palate. Enticing flavours of strawberry tart, blood orange, Aperol and rhubarb linger.

ABOUT THE WINE: Idée Fixe is French for - 'A fixed idea. Obsession'. Produced from a site first planted in 1995 the Brut Rosé's journey began in the vineyard’s ‘D Block’ with an unexpected discovery. A block of established vines assumed to be Margaret River’s prized Gingin Chardonnay clone was littered with a mix of Champagne clones. Delicate in fruit power and high in natural acidity, the mysterious clonal selection proved perfect for making a Margaret River sparkling. Subsequently, these Chardonnay clones have been propagated throughout the vineyard. The wine is made in the traditional method from predominately Chardonnay with a small portion of still red wine made from Pinot Noir, and ages in bottle for over 16 months on lees before disgorgement.
- ABOUT THE PRODUCER: The first wine from this vineyard was produced in 2012 under the Vasse Felix label. In 2020 Vasse Felix opened a purpose built sparkling wine production facility and released the first Idée Fixe Blanc de Blancs from fruit of the 2018 vintage. Vasse Felix was established in 1967 by regional pioneer Dr Tom Cullity and is the Margaret River regions founding wine estate.
